Atlanta 8-VSB Seminar Includes Richland Transmitter Site Measurements

If you've been waiting to attend one of Gary Sgrignoli's ATSC Digital Television and 8-VSB Transmission System Fundamentals and Measurement seminars, you may want to check out the upcoming seminar in Atlanta on Aug. 10 and 11. One special feature of the Atlanta seminar is a demonstration of 8-VSB transmitter measurements at a real transmitter site--the Richland Tower site--on Braircliff Road, NE, the evening of August 10. The demonstration includes dinner at the tower site.

The more traditional part of the seminar will cover topics including basic data communication and modulation theory, the 8-VSB transmission system, an introduction to FCC channel allocation factors, and basic measurement concepts. These concepts include power meters, spectrum analyzers and clock frequency and jitter analyzers. The seminar will also cover VSB measurement methodologies in the laboratory, at the transmitter and in the field.

For more information, see the Seminar Flyer. The seminar is being hosted by SBE Chapter 5 and Georgia Public Broadcasting and is open to the public. The cost is $75 (pre-registration) or $85 at the door.
