Apple Announces New Final Cut Pro Release

Apple’s Final Cut Pro software package has just been revamped with more than 100 new features.

The release of the latest version of Final Cut Studio on July 23 marked the introduction of the latest innovation in the company’s line of editing and finishing applications. With it comes Final Cut Pro 7, which now offers several ProRes codec options that can be fine tuned to a specific user’s application, including offline editing with reduced files sizes, or very high end compositing and digital workflows that demand the highest quality images available.

The Final Cut Pro 7 product also includes numerous improvements and enhancements The new release has been tailored to save time in the editing suite, make collaborative efforts easier to accomplish and streamline digital cinema applications. It also features an open and extensible architecture that provides interoperability with numerous third-party tools. The package includes more than 150 filters and effects, as well as accommodation for multistream video.
