Andrew has introduced a version of its free broadcast system planning software to help system designers configure digital or analog TV broadcast antenna systems.
The Andrew Broadcast Systems Planner (ABSP) supports horizontal, elliptical and circular polarized antenna designs. It uses a wizard, or step-by-step on-screen guide, to lead customers through the antenna selection process. Performance specifications for antennas and transmission lines are the calculated.
After completing the initial design, the ABSP produces an antenna specification that accounts for transmitter power, line loss and antenna gain and calculates Effective Radiated Power. It also generates a power analysis, azimuth, elevation patterns and associated tabulated data.
