Christiane Amanpour, CNN's chief international correspondent, has been named the 2007 recipient of the Paul White Award from the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA).
The association will honor Amanpour April 16 at RTNDA@NAB in Las Vegas.
Amanpour has spent the past two decades traveling to some of the world's most tumultuous regions, reporting on war, civil strife and natural disaster, and gaining unprecedented access to world leaders.
Amanpour is the first full-time foreign correspondent to receive the Paul White Award, according to RTNDA chairman Dan Shelley. RTNDA established the Paul White Award in 1956. The award recognizes an individual's lifetime contribution to journalism.
