U.K. OB company commits to HD teleproduction

021 Television, an outside broadcast company owned by Granada Media Group, is making a major commitment to high-definition production by upgrading two of its outside broadcast vehicles with Sony HD cameras and equipment.

Headquartered in Birmingham, England, the company has purchased several Sony HDC-950 cameras, HDCAM recorders and BVM-D Series Grade One HD monitors.

021 Television also bought fiber-to-triax converters for the cameras to use at venues that are pre-wired with triax and are unable to use fiber. According to the company, this is a temporary measure to overcome the problem of pre-wired triax stadiums.

When necessary, the teleproduction company augments its complement of Sony HDC-950 cameras and HDCAM equipment with gear from FinePoint Broadcast.
