Howard Stringer has been appointed to the position of Sony’s chairman, group CEO and representative corporate executive officer.
Currently, Stringer is chairman and CEO of Sony Corporation of America, corporate executive officer, and vice chairman and COO of Sony Entertainment Business Group.
Howard will run Sony's overall group business operations on a global basis from headquarters in both New York and Tokyo. In his new position, he will also continue as the head of the Entertainment Business Group and head of Sony Corporation of America.
