Pathfire Direct speeds remote news preview, transmission
By TVTechnology published
Pathfire has introduced Pathfire Direct, a point-to-point newsgathering solution that enables users with remote bureaus or station groups to preview, monitor and move live and store-and-forward video from one location to another.
With Pathfire Direct, news organizations can preview and monitor live content from networked locations. Using IP-enabled networks, including terrestrial, VSAT or digital ENG, stories can be monitored, transferred and aired scheduling satellite or fiber linear feeds. Pathfire Direct uses Microsoft's Windows Media 9 Series codec for simultaneous content transmission and encoding.
Newsrooms are able to digitally ingest stories and MXF-compliant metadata and then deliver the content to one or multiple locations with Pathfire Direct.
