As the door on analog closes, engineers need to quickly become familiar with many aspects of digital television regulations, standards and even history. This course, lead by broadcast engineer Phil Cianci, provides a basic tutorial platform on the how’s and why’s of ATSC digital operation. From history to theory, Cianci leads students through the complex maze of digital television. This is the first of a multipart series on DTV and HD for broadcasters.

Your instructor:

Phil Cianci is a veteran television engineer who has worked at Philips Research and ESPN. He is also the Editor of the Broadcast Engineering Transition to Digital e-Newsletter and the Focal Press book, HDTV and the Transition to Digital Broadcasting.
