DAM at NAB2006: Something for everyone

Those NAB2006 convention attendees charged with managing their company's digital assets have a lot to see and experience in Las Vegas next week (April 24-27). The best DAM place to be is in the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), meeting room S114 — on the South Hall Lower Level — within the Multimedia Hall. Over three days, the NAB will feature a full slate of presentations and product demonstrations as part of the Digital Asset Management (DAM) Pavilion.

This area is specially designed to show broadcasters how they can streamline their processes surrounding digital asset management, data backup, storage management, storage area networks, network attached storage, metadata management and network storage security.

Offering a full schedule of sessions, panel discussions, workflow designs and case studies each day, the track theme on Monday, April 24 features numerous sessions under the heading “Introduction to asset management;” the focus on Tuesday, April 25 is “The business drivers for asset management;” while on Wednesday, April 26, attendees can participate in a series of technical sessions under the banner “Bits and bytes.”

Participating DAM companies include: Artesia Digital Media Group, Ascent Media Group, ClearStory Systems, Sun Microsystems, Telestream, Thomson, Nesbit Systems and Vfinity. There's also a Digital Asset Management Theatre, sponsored by Artesia and produced by DAM trade organization Global Society of Asset Management (G-SAM), in LVCC room S114.

For a great networking venue, don't miss the G-SAM Reception, Monday, April 24, from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm, at The Beach; located directly across the street from the LVCC.
