Blackmagic Design introduces Multibridge family
By TVTechnology published
Blackmagic Design has announced the Multibridge Extreme and Multibridge Studio, bi-directional converters capable of switching between HD and SD with PCI Express. The Multibridge converts analog equipment to SDI-based systems by simultaneously converting from digital to analog and analog to digital at the same time.
When connected via the built-in high speed PCI Express connections, Multibridge can be used as a high quality capture and playback system. Using the built-in PCI Express 10Gb/s connection, Multibridge is capable of supporting high video data rate capture and playback from 10-bit uncompressed SD, HD, or 12-bit RGB 4:4:4 feature film quality.
Multibridge is available for Windows XP and Mac OS and is compatible with QuickTime and DirectShow X support, including support for Final Cut Pro 5, Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Shake, Combustion and Adobe Photoshop.
It supports bi-directional analog video and audio conversion, and can be rack mounted and used for converting analog equipment such as Betacam SP decks of HDV cameras, in HD or SD.
