AKIRA introduces 42in modular plasma display with three-inch depth

AKIRA is set to unveil its PK4201M 42in modular plasma display, which the company claims is the only plasma of this size that is three inches in depth.

AKIRA will soon introduce the PK4201M 42in modular plasma display, which will be available in March 2005.

After bringing to market the NeoDigm 84in multiplex plasma display line, the company is expanding its product line to include 42in plasma displays for single or multiple panel applications, customized to fit any application in shape and size.

Its 42in display can produce a matrix with individual panels in a high-resolution and high-contrast monitor with high-quality color reproduction. The PK4201M is three inches in depth and nearly seamless with a gap of less than 1/8in (3mm) between panels.

It can be mounted to a wall or be displayed free standing, using the optional wall mount or floor stand accessories. The monitor runs virtually silently and operates on standard power from 110- to 240V AC. Features include RS-232C and optional external TCP/IP network control for remote operation and status monitoring, a contrast ratio of over 3000:1, 1000 cd/m2 and a wide viewing angle of more than 160 degrees.

A demo will be on display at the NSCA System Integration Expo March 10-12 in Orlando, FL.
