TV5 Selects Front Porch Digital for Archive Management

Sette Ltée, Montreal-based provider of post-production and signal management services, has purchased Front Porch Digital's DIVArchive system as part of a TV5 Monde DIVArchive installation located in Montreal. The facility will be the disaster recovery site for TV5 Monde, a global provider of French-language programming to satellite and cable providers.

The new DIVArchive installation is being deployed with 10 TB of disk capacity. Content will be delivered to the site from a Grass Valley Profile server in Paris to a Profile server in Montreal, using the Thomson UIM gateway as the send and receive mechanism. The entire system will operate under SGT automation as the control layer initiating archives between Paris and Montreal.

"Front Porch has proven to be a very reliable archiving systems provider over the years, and we trust DIVArchive with our mission-critical operations," said Marcel Charette, technical director at Sette Ltée. "The company and its products have earned its position as a global leader in broadcast archive management."

Sette Ltée is the third Front Porch customer in Canada, and the first in Montreal. Toronto/Montreal-based Applied Electronics was the systems integrator for the project. Front Porch Digital is the Broadcast & Media division of Incentra Solutions Inc., a Boulder, Colo.-based provider of IT and storage management solutions to broadcasters, enterprises, and managed service providers worldwide.
