Utah Scientific Debuts Router Interface for Miranda Kaleido-X

Utah Scientific, a Salt Lake City-based developer of broadcast routing gear, has introduced a new option for its flagship Utah-400 router product line that allows the router’s outputs to link directly to the Miranda Kaleido-X series of multi-image display processors.

The new option uses the MV-Link (Universal Multi-Viewer Link), available as a Kaleido-X input option, replacing eight individual coax cables with a single multicore cable to reduce the cost and complexity of connecting the outputs of the router to the inputs of the display processor.

The Kaleido-X can also be connected via Ethernet directly to the Utah Scientific router’s control system, allowing the Kaleido-X to download router source labels for use in the multiviewer’s under-monitor displays and giving the Kaleido-X the ability to send commands to the router to set up proper source assignments for a determined layout preset. The Kaleido-X on-screen mouse operation also allows direct source assignment from the router via drop-down menus.

The new option is available for immediate delivery.
