Sierra Video Upgrades Lassen Routing Switcher

At NAB2007, Sierra Video Systems will demonstrate an upgrade to its Lassen family of routing switchers, the Lassen XL, with increased bandwidth. The company will also showcase the inclusion of IP connectivity in all Lassen family routing switchers.

The composite video and stereo audio Lassen XL analog routing switchers improve upon the previous models with the addition of an IP port for Ethernet connectivity and improved video boards with increased bandwidth. The Lassen HD and Lassen SDI routing switcher families are also now outfitted with an IP port for Ethernet connectivity.

"The elevation of our Lassen family of composite video routing switchers to XL represents a fresh update of communication and board features," said Chris Santos, product manager for Sierra Video Systems. "Added IP connectivity and enhanced video boards allow Lassen to remain the standard product for customers with space-constrained production environments. Furthermore, we've extended Ethernet capabilities to all of our Lassen families, including Lassen HD multiformat routing switchers and Lassen SDI digital routing switchers, to benefit all of our customers."

The rear panels of all Lassen family routing switchers now have RJ-45 connectors for IP communication over Ethernet, and they still offer RS-232/422 control capability.

For the new Lassen XL composite video routing switchers, improved XL video boards allow for increased bandwidth to 300MHz at -3 dB. The XLs are available in sizes from 12x4 to 32x32.

Sierra Video will be in booth SL6105.
