Sony unveils short shotgun mic at AES

published At the recent AES convention in San Francisco, Sony Electronics showed the new ECM-673, a compact shotgun microphone that is part of the company’s electret condenser microphone series. Only 8in long and weighing less than 5oz, the mic is specifically designed for high-quality location recording. It features high sensitivity, low self-noise, supercardioid directivity and a flat, wide-range frequency response. A switchable low-cut filter helps control ambient noise.
