McDowell sworn in at FCC; announces staff

Robert McDowell was sworn into his office as a commissioner of the FCC on June 1 by FCC chairman Kevin Martin.

McDowell has 16 years of private sector experience in the communications industry. Prior to joining the FCC, McDowell was senior vice president and assistant general counsel for COMPTEL, a telecommunications trade association.

On June 5, McDowell announced his staff, including:

· Cristina Chou Pauzé, acting media advisor;

· Dana Brown Shaffer, acting wireline advisor; and

· Angela Giancarlo, acting wireless advisor.
