Cordillera expands base of Leitch Nexio servers

Leitch has announced that Cordillera Communications has expanded its installed base of Leitch servers, purchasing Nexio systems for three of its NBC affiliate stations: KOAA-TV in Colorado Springs, CO, KVOA-TV in Tucson, AZ, and KSBY-TV in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Cordillera's most recent purchase of Leitch servers includes a transmission system for KOAA-TV, a newsroom system for KVOA-TV, and both transmission and news systems for KSBY-TV. This purchase adds to Cordillera's initial installation of Nexio transmission servers at three of its stations last year, and plans call for Leitch servers to be installed in the majority of the company's 11 stations.

Nexio is a modular, scalable server system for transmission and news environments, which offers integrated applications platforms for editing, browsing and media management across a multi-tiered storage hierarchy. Nexio supports multiple compression formats in both SD and HD, industry-standard control protocols, third-party file formats and ASI interface, providing broadcasters with the flexibility they need to meet any future requirements. As an operation grows, users can expand systems up to 24TB in a single domain.
