WLS-TV Chicago gets Clarity for graphics

With Pixel Power’s Clarity 500, WLS-TV gave itself a visual makeover, including new openings for its newscasts, new graphics and a new animated take on its familiar logo at the bottom right corner of the screen.

WLS-Channel 7 in Chicago is using two Clarity 500 systems for all of its newscasts.

The ABC-owned station gave itself a visual makeover, including new openings for its newscasts, new graphics and a new animated take on its familiar logo at the bottom right corner of the screen.

Each Clarity 500 channel provides dual real-time live video squeezeback. In addition, the video clips option for Clarity 500 offers two channels of uncompressed video and key from an internal videodisk array. Video clips can be used as backgrounds or resized and relocated using the system’s internal squeezeback capability.

At WLS the Clarity 500 systems are tightly integrated into the station’s Avid iNews newsroom automation system using the Pixel Power Control Center Server and Pixel Power ActiveX plug-in for iNews.

WLS also implemented playout automation using Avid’s iNews ControlAir and the Pixel Power Device Manager for ControlAir.
