Winegard Launches All-Band DTV/HDTV Antenna

Winegard has introduced its SharpShooter SS-3000, an off-air DTV/HDTV antenna.

The Burlington, Iowa-based TV product manufacturer will demo the new antenna in its line of GetDTV/HDTV series at CES, along with its new SquareShooter SS-2000, an updated version of its outdoor SS-1000.

Digital antenna installation and DTV/HDTV reception is successful because consumers can buy an antenna that deals with multi-path or reflected signals, according to Bob Howell, director, distribution systems/off-air antenna business group at Winegard.
The antenna is geared towards urban areas where the transmit source is sometimes blocked, allowing city-dwellers in apartments and condos to receive digital broadcasts.

The SharpShooter selectively looks at each multi-path signal one at a time and is designed to reject other multi-paths and enables the user to select a clean digital signals and data source for the ATSC chip set to decode.

Additionally, the 26.75-inch wide SharpShooter incorporates a specialized "E-Field" design, a new technology created by Dotcast, combined with the Winegard "Scatter Plane" technology.
