VidaBox Ships Systems With Blu-ray, HD DVD Support

VidaBox has begun shipping what it said are turnkey systems with CableCard, Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD support all in one box. The new CableCard feature is available in the Lux and Magnum systems, which are packed with Nvidia 8600GTS video cards to render video in 1080p, and supports up to 7.1 Dolby Digital HD and DTS HD surround sound. It also provides options for two added HD tuners (for a total of four), 4 GB of RAM, and 5 TB and 9 TB of protected storage on the Lux and Magnum systems, respectively, according to the Westbury, N.Y.-based firm.

VidaBox said recorded HD content via cable can be streamed on five wire-connected XBox 360 systems--while system-stored music, photos and DVDs can be streamed with up to 10 VidaBox media extenders to various home-based or office retrieval sites.
