VertigoXmedia to Showcase Updated Asset Management System at IBC

Automated broadcast graphics maker VertigoXmedia is debuting a new version of its asset management system IBC2004 this month in Amsterdam.

Xmedia Server is part of the Producer Xmedia Suite, a system for creating, controlling and delivering dynamic content in single- or multi-channel environments.

This release includes a new feature to streamline the graphics automation workflow for journalists who need to generate work orders for graphic elements electronically from their desktop.

After a graphic element is created, the Xmedia Server ingests it and it becomes available to be used as a part of an on-air graphic. The server also stores and manages all digital assets such as templates, playlists, still images and audio/video clips.

"The new enhancements significantly streamline the process of ordering, creating and managing graphics in a multi-user environment," said the company's CEO David Wilkins.

Associated Press, Reuters and SportsTicker feeds are automatically linked to templates in the Producer Xmedia system. Graphics can be generated from live data and sent to air automatically.

Montreal-based VertigoXmedia will demo its products at IBC2004 Sept. 10-14. For more information, visit http://www.ibc.org/.
