TVH, the prime broadcaster covering the Rugby World Cup starting Sept. 7, will use the resources of GlobeCast to provide HD and SD feeds to other major broadcasters covering the matches.
From its facilities outside Paris, GlobeCast plans to launch the signals using the tournament’s International Broadcast Center, according to Rapid TV News in London.
TVH, a division of the TF1 Group, currently plans to situate more than a dozen SNG mobile studio vehicles to various rugby matches around France. At least three of the trucks will be used exclusively for HD productions for select match-ups.
Also, at some matches near Marseille, GlobeCast plans to conduct tests of long-distance terrestrial transmission of non-compressed HD signals to see how infrastructure, equipment and video/audio quality are affected.
