Stealth Aerial selects Panasonic for HD POV system
By TVTechnology published
Stealth Aerial Cameras has equipped its latest flying camera system with Panasonic's AK-HC1500G 1080i/720p switchable HD point-of-view camera.
The camera, which offers switchable 1081i and 720p operation, allows a single camera to be used for all broadcast sports clients, the Winter Park, FL, -based company said.
When rigged in a football stadium, Stealth's system enables the camera to follow the action on the field from almost any angle, including just behind the quarterback. By positioning eight pulleys in the four highest corners of a stadium and rigging the lines high up in the air around the stadium, operators can position the camera to capture a wide range of perspectives.
The camera's 17-watt power consumption allows power delivery from a low voltage DC source through 1,200ft of custom fiber cable, rather than from a high-voltage AC source, the company said.
The new system was first used on a pre-season NFL game between the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia last month.
