Sportvision’s backboard slideout effect debuts at NBA All-Star Game
By TVTechnology published
Sportvision, inventors of the first-and-ten line for football telecasts and other virtual sports graphics technologies, unveiled its latest innovation, the backboard slideout graphic effect, for the recent broadcast of the 2008 NBA All-Star Game on TNT. The new graphic provides viewers with a unique look at a free-throw attempt.
This new graphic allowed TNT to insert relevant video and graphics into a virtual screen that slid out of the backboard during free-throw attempts throughout the telecast. Replays of the infraction, player stats, game stats, player bios, close-ups of the shooter’s eyes and footage from any camera or video source can also be incorporated into the virtual screen.
