Sparrowhawk Handles Time Delay With 360 Systems

Sparrowhawk Broadcasting Services recently selected delay equipment from 360 Systems for use in its Denver network operations center.

SBS selected 360's 2470 Broadcast Time Delay units based upon reliability, ability to handle embedded audio and dual standard (NESC/PAL) video capability.

"We purchased two Time Delays for redundancy--that's what we do with all critical equipment," said Brett Pierce, SBS director of engineering. "Besides features and price, we like the fact that if it loses power, the 360 Systems' Time Delay does not need to be reprogrammed."

SBS originates audio and video content for 20 channels, feeding viewers in five continents.

The 360 Systems 2470 delay can maintain single frame accuracy for very long periods of time and handles both analog and digital audio and video signals. It may be programmed for time delays of more than 24 hours, or for delays as short as 20 seconds.
