Scripps Uses XOrbit ProofPositive For Program Verification

XOrbit has announced that lifestyle media company Scripps Networks successfully completed its first year using XOrbit’s ProofPositive live-to-air content delivery confirmation system. Scripps Networks produces such cable TV brands such as HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, Fine Living Network and Great American Country.

ProofPositive identifies particular attributes of the master signal and compares them to downlinked signals around the country. If a delivered signal does not match the master broadcast stream, the system automatically e-mails an error notification to the cable network. ProofPositive’s unique, patent-pending technology enables it to adapt to variations in time zones, transmission delays, and other timing issues.

Scripps Networks receives an e-mail within 30 seconds after the downlinked signal from a particular location drops below a defined threshold for errors. The email contains demographic information and a link to download the audio/video clip that triggered the alert. By archiving the video clips, Scripps Networks is able to provide undisputed documentation to advertisers of the source of the error.

Access to “as-run” information can be invaluable when providing accurate information to advertisers and to the sales team. Advertisers can be notified quickly and advised how a problem has been fixed before they even know any irregular or unexpected occurred. The sales department is able to demonstrate a proactive approach to supporting a valued customer.

XOrbit has deployed ProofPositive in more than 200 metropolitan areas across the United States and has additional plans for expansion.
