Scopus to highlight efficiencies of DVB-S2 modulation

At NAB2008, Scopus Video Networks will demonstrate several new advanced tools for broadcasters and satellite operators to optimize their content delivery chain and enable the rollout of HD services.

The company will showcase the benefits of its DVB-S2 solution for contribution with a demonstration combining its UE-9000 encoder and IRD-2900 receiver platforms. Scopus will conduct a side-by-side comparison of DVB-S and DVB-S2 transmission methods to illustrate how DVB-S2 can provide up to 30 percent bandwidth savings.

Scopus also will highlight the IRD-2900 platform using VCM (Variable Coding and Modulation), which allows synchronization of real-time changes of modulation and coding to maintain continuity of service in erratic transmission conditions.
