Scopus Network Technologies is creating a product line compatible with the DVB-S2 standards currently under development by the DVB, the broadcast technology industry's standards group.
The products will enable broadcasters to transmit content and data at speeds up to 100 Mbps per second per satellite transponder, increasing its capacity and geographic coverage.
Scopus is targeting the headend broadcast site market for contribution and distribution applications, covering both master headends and local sub-headends. The market's estimated size is 20,000 sites worldwide and growing as broadcasters seek ways to switch from analog to digital.
