Satellite Update
The FCC approved Intelsat North America’s application for special temporary authority (STA) to operate tracking, telemetry, command and monitoring functions while drifting Intelsat 601 from is current location at 63.65 degrees east longitude (EL) to 47.5 degrees EL. PanAmSat received STA to conduct in-orbit testing and tracking, telemetry and control operations for the Intelsat 11 satellite at 47.5 degrees WL in the 12.75-13.25 GHz (Earth-to-space), 13.75-14.0 GHz (Earth-to-space) and 10.7-11.45 GHz (space-to-Earth) extended Ku-band frequencies for a period of 30 days, beginning Oct. 9, 2007. The FCC International Bureau determined Loral Skynet Corporation has met both the Critical Design Review and Commence Physical Construction milestones for the Telstar 11R satellite.
