Sanyo Electric has selected RSA Security to provide its RSA BSAFE Secure Socket Layer (SSL) products for use in DTV sets for the Japanese market.
The technology in the VIZON line of products will protect both SD and HD broadcasts as well as the identities of those using interactive features.
"We are known for providing highly customizable and standards-based security components that meet the constrained resource requirements of consumer devices," said Rick Welch, vice president of developer solutions, professional services, RSA Security.
RSA Security, based in Bedford, Mass., has been developing security standards and technologies for 20 years.
