The RTL Group’s Technical Committee has chosen the XDCAM HD 422 file format for HD program exchange, within the group and from external distributors. Video should be encoded 50Mb/s, MPEG-2, long GOP, 1080i. This decision is part of the RTL Group’s strategy of an HD workflow in a complete file-based environment, lowering delivery and post-production costs.
