Rogers Television Purchases Leitch Slo-mo Systems for Mobile Trucks

Canadian cable television service provider Rogers Cable will employ Leitch's Whiplash2 slow-motion systems in Rogers' mobile trucks.

The Whiplash2 systems will be used to cover live sporting events in Ontario and the Canadian Maritimes for Rogers Television. Operators can use the system to play back slow-motion replays on demand while creating game play lists, which include short-air commercials. The system combines Leitch's dpsReality dual-stream digital disk recorder with custom sports application software in a 2-RU, rack-mountable frame.

Rogers cited the Whiplash2's scalability, ease of use and speed as factors in the decision.
