Red One elevates HD acquisition

Red Digital Cinema has introduced the Red One camera, a high-definition camcorder that delivers 11.4M pixels at up to 60fps and records raw or 2x over-sampled HD in 4:4:4 or 4:2:2.

At the heart of the Red One is Mysterium CMOS Super 35mm cine-sized sensor. The Mysterium, which uses almost 11.5 million 29sq miron pixels for imaging, delivers a signal to noise ratio greater than 66dB. Users have the option to dial back how much visual data is recorded to accommodate their specific workflow and application.

The modularly designed camera can be configured in a lightweight ENG style package weighing less than 7lbs or loaded up with accessories to shoot from a studio pedestal, crane or with a long lens.
