Radamec offers improved robotic performance

Radamec Broadcast Systems has developed a new Linux-based Touch Control Panel with a digital Key Frame Control mode that memorizes and repeats the robotic camera pedestal's exact position and orientation as the operator moves it, allowing robotically controlled cameras to achieve creative shots previously only accomplished by manual control.

The new Linux-based control module, the ARC2000, enables Radamec’s RoboJib to describe a complex trajectory while maintaining the object in the center of the shot, and allows Radamec’s RP2A robotic pedestal to perform long reveal shots while maintaining its focus on the on-screen talent.

Radamec has also added the ability to control robotic pedestals over IP, allowing a smooth integration into the IT infrastructures of broadcast facilities. This new functionality enables web-based control and TCP/IP connectivity, bringing greater freedom to the way control systems are configured and interconnected.

The company also showed improved accuracy of its RP2A robotic pedestal’s triangulation navigation capability, offering a system that utilizes targets in the ceiling where wall targets cannot be mounted. The new navigation system also allows continuously update steering, which increases the positioning precision of robotic pedestals.

In addition, Radamec demonstrated its Scenario-XR Virtual Television Production System [Editor's note: For a complete report on the Scenario read Radamec's Scenario XR next-generation virtual studio]‚ with the capacity to display and process virtual studio graphics in the 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. The Scenario XR system renders ray-traced virtual studios in real time, producing high quality output. Ray-tracing brings live reflections and refractions of scene elements in floors, tables, windows, walls etc., including all live video and application inserts.
