ABC's Academy Awards Pre-Show and Post-Show used Pinnacle Systems' FXDeko character generator for its live broadcasts. FXDeko II was also used to display on-air the real-time results of polls taken on ABC's Enhanced TV interactive broadcast of the Oscars.
Additionally, TV station KABC used its FXDeko II systems to create graphics in advance of the show. Two systems, provided by Southwest Television and Bexel, were used on site.
