Only one in four teens can name broadcast networks

A new study finds that only one in four 12- to 34-year-olds can name all four major broadcast networks: ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX. This reality check came from an online survey conducted by Bolt Media, a Web site that allows users to upload video and photos.

The most popular activity for this age group, the survey found, is surfing the Internet. Eighty-four percent said they do that during their idle periods. Hanging out with friends came in second at 76 percent; watching movies third at 71 percent; and TV viewing fourth at 69 percent. Among the most watched TV networks by the young demographic are MTV, Comedy Central and the Cartoon Network.
