News-Press & Gazette Taps Sundance Digital for Automation

News-Press & Gazette, a family owned communications company based in St. Joseph, Missouri, has chosen Sundance Digital as the automation vendor for a number of its television stations.

KVIA-TV, the ABC affiliate for El Paso, Texas will receive the first Sundance Digital system with an on-air date scheduled for Sept. 1. KTVZ in Bend, Oregon, and KECY-TV in Yuma, Ariz. will follow later this year.

Sundance Digital will supply FastBreak NXT packages to automate News-Press Gazette's spot insertion, program play-out, and satellite recording processes. The FastBreak NXT automation packages will include Intelli-Sat to manage satellite feed recording and ListSync redundancy. The company is also offering the news organization an upgrade path to Titan in the future.

"Sundance Digital offers the most practical and economical approach to reaching our ultimate goal of establishing an efficient model for our group of stations," said Jim DeChant, director of technical operations for News-Press & Gazette. "Their ability to start out with basic automation and provide an easy upgrade is very attractive."
