National Geographic Channel Uses WebWare to Manage Assets
By TVTechnology published
National Geographic Channels International is using WebWare ActiveMedia web services-based digital asset management software, which lets users manage, share, reuse and distribute media content, for its global sales, marketing and syndication efforts.
ActiveMedia will help NGCI deliver materials to its 29 international offices by uploading promotional and programming content, including stills, video and scripts, in a central repository. The system enables any office to be the distribution point for marketing materials. NGCI headquarters controls access and usage rights. Third parties, including post-production facilities and dubbing houses, are given access to the repository where they can download scripts for translation.
ActiveMedia, which can be used as a standalone DAM system or connected with other legacy systems, was installed, configured and launched in three months. NGCI reaches over 160 million households in 144 countries in 25 languages.
