Two microwave leaders will be sharing transmission technology under a royalty agreement, Microwave Radio Communications (MRC) and Nucomm announced.
North Billerica, Mass.-based MRC will license to Nucomm its patent for independently transmitting a dual analog-digital signal within a single channel. MRC now uses the technology in its TwinStream series of radios.
"We at MRC feel that it is in the best interest to the broadcast industry that more than one microwave manufacturer can supply this spectrum and cost-saving technology," said MRC President Tony Finizio.
Nucomm has used the technology in its Dual Stream products. The agreement, whose terms were not released, also covers products already developed by Nucomm.
