Link Research adds new high gain and Up/Down antenna to the LinkXP range
By TVTechnology published
The high gain digital ENG antenna has been designed by Link to work with "point to point" or "point to camera" operations.
The new antenna can be steered to track the roaming LinkXP camera. It still has a beamwidth wider than a dish allowing for larger errors in pointing accuracy.
The Up/Down Digital ENG antenna has been designed to work specifically with airborne operations in mind. Many news crews and production companies need shots from high vantage points, usually from aircraft or helicopters.
The new antenna is optimized to work in an environment that requires the signal strength to be increase directly above or below the antennas. Conventionally designed antennas have better operational capability with increase in signal (gain) required at the horizon.
Sporting and news events often occur with the airborne receive or transmit point being close to the ground point so links can be affected.
