Landmark Concert Produced in Israel for PBS

A special concert production that will run on PBS as a Pledge Break special was recently completed in an ancient Roman Theater setting in Israel. The event marked the first-ever high-definition multi-camera concert event in that country and featured international singing star Dudu Fisher.

“Not only was this an amazing ‘first’ for Israel to begin to tap into the future of high-definition technology, but to also be able to showcase Dudu’s talent and to show the amazing history of our country by featuring the Beit Sha’en Roman Theater,” said the concert’s producer, Tzvi Small, “

The production, “Dudu Fisher Live In Concert from Israel,” was recorded by Broadcast Video, utilizing that company’s special HD flypack system. Audio was captured by a special multi-track system operated by an English-speaking Israeli crew.

A total of eight Sony Cine-Alta cameras were used in the production recorded in Israel’s Beit Sha’en National Park. A special and extensive lighting setup was put in place to allow the television audience to appreciate the ruins surrounding the performing area.
