Infinite Frameworks goes HD with Discreet smoke, inferno

Infinite Frameworks recently purchased Discreet's inferno 6 for its Singapore facility.

Singapore-based post-production house Infinite Frameworks has purchased a Discreet smoke editing/finishing system and is upgrading to the latest version of Discreet’s high-end visual effects system, inferno 6.

This purchase makes Infinite Frameworks the first facility in Singapore with a full range of high-definition (HD) post-production capabilities. The post-production facility has also upgraded its hardware with an SGI Onyx 350.

The company has begun work on several HD broadcast projects and expects to start two more at the beginning of 2005.

The investment in HD is crucial to growth as Infinite Frameworks opens up new revenue streams in feature films, made-for-TV movies and episodics for markets like Singapore, China, Indonesia and Vietnam. Additionally, regional broadcasters have expressed an interest in having programs mastered in both HD and standard-definition (SD) formats.
