FCC Localism Task Force Takes on San Antonio
The FCC has released details about the second of its six public Localism Task Force hearings. The hearing scheduled for Jan. 28, 2004, will be held in San Antonio, Texas, from 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m., in the City Council Chamber at the Municipal Plaza Building, 103 Main Plaza.
FCC Chairman Michael Powell will preside over the hearing; Commissioners Kathleen Abernathy, Michael Copps, and Jonathan Adelstein will be in attendance. The hearing is open to the public, and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Initiated after the public outcry over raising media ownership limits, the hearings are intended to gather information from consumers, industry, civic organizations, and others on broadcasters' community service.
A recording of the hearing will be made available to the public. The public may also file comments or other documents with the FCC. For more information, go to www.fcc.gov/localism, or contact the Task Force at 202-418-7777, or at localism@fcc.gov.
