Epson Unveils Trio of HD Theater Systems

There is large, as in "large-screen HD"—and then there are emerging home theater systems that would engulf everything that you thought was large. Epson America is rolling out three new versions of its HD home theater system as part of its HD Ensemble Home Cinema line.

Epson typically offers all of its wares online and on the brick-and-mortar level through other authorized retailers. Standard with all three configurations is a 100-inch, roll-down screen and an HD-centric projector (permitting 720p, 1080i or 1080p at different price points). Each system also comes with integrated surround sound, DVD player (apparently not Blu-ray), an AV controller and universal remote.

The system's lower-end setup starts at about $5,000.
