Crystal Vision releases new embedder with audio processing

Crystal Vision has added a third TANDEM to its range of audio embedding products.

The new single channel TANDEM-300 embedder and audio processor has one 100mm x 266mm board combining both an embedder and audio processor. The audio processing includes adjustment of gain levels and stereo to mono conversion.

The TANDEM-300 features audio error masking, while a monitoring audio bus allows stereo audio monitoring from any one of sixteen different points on the card.

Independent gain adjustment of +16dB through to -42dB allows the user to select the desired volume on each individual channel. Audio channels can also be muted. The conversion of stereo to mono features a mono audio track allowing room for four different languages.

The TANDEM-300 also provides several audio sources, giving a maximum of 16 audio channels from which to select the final four. Audio can be taken from the main SDI video stream, a second SDI stream which can be bridged across to the main SDI path, or from any two external audio sources. These external sources are accessed by using Crystal Vision's standard analog, digital and resampling digital input piggybacks (the AIP2, DIP2 and DIP2-RS) which fit on the motherboard and give the option of embedding analogue or digital audio into the SDI.

Phase can be inverted on the individual audio channels, while audio delay can be set from 0 to 680mS. It features audio error masking, while a monitoring audio bus allows stereo audio monitoring from any one of sixteen different points on the card. This is available on the frame rear module or on a headphone socket at the front of the board.

TANDEM-300 fits in the company's standard frames (with up to 12 boards in 2U, six in 1U or two in a desk top box) and can be controlled by board edge, an active front panel on the frame, a remote control panel or by using the Statesman PC Control System.
