Commission tentatively set to consider DTV, AWS at open meeting
By TVTechnology
published The Federal Communications Commission is tentatively scheduled to act on a DTV related order and matters related to service rules for the AWS spectrum in the 1.9GHz to 2.1GHz bands.
On May 23, FCC chairman Kevin Martin circulated a tentative agenda for the June meeting with several items, including:
- DTV: An Order on Clarification with respect to Petitions for Reconsideration of Clarification of the Third Periodic Review of the commission’s rules and policies affecting the conversion to digital television.
- Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) Spectrum: A Report and Order that would adopt service rules for AWS Spectrum in the 1.9 GHz-2.1 GHz bands, an Order on Reconsideration that would address petitions for reconsideration of a commission order that addressed applications and forbearance petitions to one of the AWS bands, and a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that would seek further comment regarding service rules for the AWS spectrum.
The spectrum used for AWS is in the band being vacated as part of the 2GHz Broadcast Auxiliary Service relocation project.
