Clear Channel Television launches Web design, management service

Looking to expand its vast news operations and create new advertising opportunities Clear Channel Television has launched a full-service Website design and management service. Called Inergize Digital Media, the unit will incorporate the resources of the former Clear Channel Television Interactive group.

The move comes after a several of non-Clear Channel television stations signed on as clients to the Interactive group. Inergize Digital Media currently operates 42 local television station Websites in 25 markets, covering 12.9 percent of the top U.S. TV households.

Formed in 2002 as Clear Channel Television’s Interactive group, the Inergize Digital Media’s team has worked with a variety of stations to combine local television programming with the targeted, interactive ads and sponsor links.

Inergize designs Web-server database models for stations to support such Internet-based features as e-commerce, wireless, streaming video and content management that can be easily updated by non-technical staff. The company also develops advanced advertising solutions that enable marketers to better target their core consumers and gaming elements that encourage longer site visits. Initially, the service will also help train the sales staff.
