Blackmagic Design rolls out PCI Express HDMI capture, playback card
By TVTechnology published
Blackmagic Design has unveiled Intensity, an HDMI capture playback card that allows cameras with HDMI video connections to move beyond HDV compressed video to uncompressed editing and design.
Intensity, a PCI Express card for Windows or Mac OS X, can instantly switch between 1080HD, 720HD, NTSC and PAL video standards. It allows cameras, decks and set-top boxes to playback to any HDMI big-screen TV or video projector for video editing, in SD or HD, with real-time effects.
Intensity allows users with consumer-level cameras to benefit from uncompressed video quality by providing a means for direct-from-CCD recording for the highest uncompressed quality. Users can capture arrays for high-speed uncompressed video to disk, or, when disk speed and space is tight, choose from a range of professional compressed codecs.
