Autocue, SGL Announce Partnership

Amsterdam--At IBC, Software Generation Ltd (SGL), a provider of video storage management software, announced its partnership with Autocue, a supplier of integrated broadcast and newsroom systems.
The SGL and Autocue collaboration will see the integration of SGL FlashNet, the company’s flagship software storage solution, which provides the link between video stored as files on video servers, editing systems, and the long term archive library, and Autocue’s QNews and QMedia solutions. From the Autocue application interface users will be able to send and retrieve material directly to and from the library.
"We are delighted to be working with Autocue on this project, creating a seamless digital workflow from the journalist’s desktop to the long-term library, further enhancing the dynamic flow of the newsroom," commented Bernie Walsh, SGL’s sales and marketing director.
In other news, SGL announced a strategic alliance with Avid to produce a fully integrated end-to-end hardware and software-based archive storage solution. SGL also penned a deal with NBC at the show. NBC News has purchased SGL FlashNet for use at its network news operation in the Rockefeller Center, New York City.
