KLRU, the PBS affiliate in Austin, Texas has installed Crispin Corp.'s System2000 automation system as part of a multi-phase automation project. The system is being installed by systems integrator SignaSys and replaces a previously selected system that was discontinued midway through the project.
On-site testing and staff training with both Signasys and Crispin is slated to begin mid-August. Phase 1 and Phase 2 completion, including standard DTV Compliance package consisting of 2 SD encoders, 1 HD encoder, mux automation interface, traffic interface, PSIP, monitoring, "glass wall" MCR monitoring with automation interface, closed caption and EAS integration, are slated for completion in August.
